Academic/College Adivising
Portsmouth Christian schools is dedicated to provide students with the opportunity to be prepared academically, spiritually, and socially for future endeavors. Our advising program is designed to work closely with students and parents to make sure that students understand the numerous options they have following graduation.
Our goal is to help students find the best "fit" possible for them following graduation whether that is a four-year university, community college, an apprenticeship program, or joining the armed services. We are committed to not only helping students to understand who they are and identifying personal strengths, but also praying alongside your student and family that your student may find the path that God has already prepared for them.
We will meet with the middle schoolers in large settings to introduce them to the tools that Naviance can offer related to career and college explorations. Each year students will set academic and social goals that will be tracked to assess progress throughout middle school. Seventh graders will also take a quick survey to see what they know or what they are planning as far as college is concerned. During the time the process is minimal but vital to ensure that students are focusing on the big picture and working towards their academic future
